Get your dancing shoes on and dance! dance! dance! At Roosevelt Community Center
The dances at Roosevelt Community Center are a lot of fun, and participants are excited this event has returned after a temporary pause during the pandemic. The dances also encourage socialization, a goal of the Senior Nutrition Program.
A variety of dances include ballroom dancing and line dancing. Some of the dances have specific themes - recently a luau dance was held with brightly colored dresses and leis.
More themed dances will occur for Halloween and other holidays. The dances are well attended with approximately 60-80 people.
Dances are held Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays from 1-3pm after the Senior Nutrition lunch program. The entrance fee is $1.00.
On Mondays, the dances focus on music and traditional dances from China. Wednesday’s dances cater to Vietnamese music and on Friday’s, music from the Philippines.
